The Cabildo de Tenerife has agreed to allocate 240,750 euros to the promotion of the Motor Circuit in MotoGP races. The island corporation has contracted the company Dorna Sport SL, “the only one that could provide the services for reasons of exclusivity” as it holds the rights relating to the exploitation of the Public Areas of motorcycling events, according to various resolutions.

The expense is included within the 605,000 euros for advertising actions of the project already advanced by the vice president of the Cabildo de Tenerife and main defender of the plan, Enrique Arriaga (Citizens). The extension of the contract runs from September 3 to November 30, 2022. The island government does not estimate extensions of the award, although more advertising campaigns are expected to reach the total amount mentioned.

The Island Council opened the tender file on June 15, 2022 and formalized the award a few days ago. According to the minutes of the contracting table, only one offer was presented, that of Dorna Sports SL. At first, the procedure was declared “deserted” because the successful bidder did not submit the required documentation in a timely manner. But after reopening the process, he did.
