United We Can Santa Cruz (Izquierda Unida-Podemos-Equo) reported yesterday that it had submitted to the Cabildo de Tenerife allegations regarding the modification of the Governing Plan for Use and Management (PRUG) of Anaga, among which are the prohibition of military maneuvers and sports competitions in restricted use areas, in addition to limiting the number of participants in the rest of the Rural Park. To which is added restricting mass leisure activities if they produce an environmental impact and creating a citizen participation table that integrates social groups as a consultative body for the management of this protected space.

In the case of military maneuvers, UP maintains that their performance “contravenes the provisions and the object of the PRUG and are incompatible with the values of the Rural Park and the conservation of its fauna and flora”, so they should only be allowed in the cases contemplated in the Organic Law on States of Alarm, Exception and Siege.

With regard to sports competitions and activities, the confluence of the left opposes the elimination of their prohibition in restricted use areas, while limitations referring to the human carrying capacity in this protected space should be included in the new plan. .

In addition, United We Can consider it necessary to promote citizen participation in the management of the massif.
