The municipality of The Sauzal hosts the 10th and 11th of September the I Fair against Aesthetic Violence and Fatphobiawith the motto XXL pride. Organized by Mogares Doyan and the Northern City Council, with funding from the General Directorate of Youth of the Government of the Canary Islands, this exhibition aims to make non-regulatory or dissident bodies visible; claim tolerance and respect, and fight against hatred towards obese people.
Prince’s Square is the place chosen to host this innovative cultural and social proposal from 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 10, when the opening proclamation is read by the activist and influencer Ceci Wallace. After this start, the attendees will be able to enjoy a weekend of market, workshops, musical performances, training activities and round tables.
Mogares Doyandirector of the event, stresses that this first fair will achieve “give voice and visibility to bodily dissidence and fatphobia”, while highlighting the extensive lineup of artists and personalities that will participate in the I Fair against Aesthetic Violence and Fatphobia, What Martha Santos (former contestant on the TV show The voice), eli rosex (former contestant of the television program OT 2020), the singer Christina Mahelothe influencer and activist Sarah Herrerathe psychologist Patricia Palenzuelathe artist Ana Benavidezthe actor Robert Matchezthe director of the Canarian Institute for Equality, kika smokeror, and the Director of Youth of the Government of the Canary Islands, Laura Fuentes, among other. Entities such as Psicosalud Tenerife or Nutriestrategic will also be present.

The afternoon of the first day of this XXL Pride fair will be completed with a performance at 5:00 p.m. by the artist and activist Christina Maheloon the stage Curvy Music; the training workshop on Eating Disorders (ED), stigma and fat-phobia, by the psychologist Patricia PalenzuelaTCA expert, who will start at 17:45 on stage Body Talkand the round table influencers dedicated to fatphobia in social networks, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the presence of Ceci Wallace, Sara Herrera, Urbano Sfera and Mogares Doyan. Starting at 8:00 p.m., there will be a session of DJ with Monterreyfrom Selector Pepper.
On Sunday 11 at 11:30 the market opens and the theater workshop “Acuerpa tu cuerpo” is offered. At 12:30 there will be a round table entitled «Fat Movement in Art». In the afternoon, children’s workshop “I learn to love my body” (16:30); performance of Martha Santos (16:30); round table on the LGTBI collective and fatphobia (17:15); the performance of the Rumberos comparsa (18:15); the round table on aesthetic violence, politics, health, mental health and fatness (19:00), and the closing of Orgullo XXL with the concert by eli rosexstarting at 8:00 p.m.
