On the occasion of the centenary celebration of UD Orotava, two possible names had been proposed to rename the Municipal Stadium Los Cuartos, in La Orotava. The two options proposed were Buenaventura Machado, proposed by the assembly of club members, and Felipe Martín, at the request of a neighborhood association of the municipality. Machado was president of the villero club in the 70s, and Martín is the only international player of the Spanish team born in La Orotava. Given the existence of this double proposal, and by agreement between both families and the City Council of La Orotava, it has been agreed to keep the original name of the football field. |
