SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 30 Aug. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands reports this Tuesday that since the last data update last Friday, 230 new positives in covid-19 have been recorded in the archipelago among people over 60 years of age, which is the population group at that is followed up after the acute phase of the pandemic has passed.

In addition, in the last four days there have been eight deaths, of which five were reported in Tenerife, two in Gran Canaria and one in La Palma, aged between 69 and 97. All the people had previous pathologies and were They were in hospital admission, details the Ministry in a note.

Therefore, the cumulative number of coronavirus cases among this group amounts to 95,869 people in the Canary Islands, while the Cumulative Incidence for this age group at 14 days stands at 230.16 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 7 days at 108. 01.


Currently, in the archipelago there are 123 people admitted for coronavirus, of which eight are in the ICU and the rest, 115, on the ward.
