SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 30 Aug. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The CC-PNC group of the Cabildo de Tenerife demands this Tuesday that the agreement approved in the Extraordinary Plenary held on August 22 be complied with to demand that the State finance 100% of public transport in the buses and the tram until the 31 December 2022.
The nationalist spokesman, Carlos Alonso, points out that it is an “outrage against all Canarians and Tenerife residents” and cannot be allowed. “Anyone on the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands can use the commuter trains for free, while in Tenerife they have to pay to use the bus and the tram. It’s not fair and we want the same treatment,” he details in a note.
Alonso also points out that “in plenary it was approved by a majority that the Cabildo demand from the State the financing of 100% of public transport as occurs in the rest of Spanish territory, but Pedro Martín does not defend the interests of Tenerife but those of the PSOE, the agreement was approved by a majority and must comply with it”.
For the CC-PNC spokesman, the PSOE “has betrayed the Canary Islands and Tenerife because they do not give us equal treatment, it is a comparative offense that here we have to pay 50% of the price while on the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands they can travel free”.
