Miriam Herrera and Patrick Herrera become the new kings of the Canarias Salsa Open

Patrick Herrera Martin Y Miriam Herrera Santana become the new kings of Canary Salsa Open in the Couples category, the most valued dance competition in the world and which, on this occasion, celebrated its eighteenth edition in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

This duo wins the first prize in this category after beating Ana Belén Bolaños González and Adasat Correa Negrín in the qualifying test, who came in second, and Patricia Méndez Álvarez and Kleber Alves de Melo, in third place.

The awards ceremony took place this Saturday, August 27, at the La Recova Art Center in the capital of Tenerife, by the Councilor for Culture of the City Council of Santa Cruz de TenerifeGladis de León, together with Silvio González and Adrián Rodríguez.

In the solo category, Mar García Callejo won the first prize, followed by Zaira Santana Hernández in second place and Adán Suárez Díaz in third place.

The first places in each of the modalities have secured a place in the 2023 World Salsa Open, which after two years without being able to be held due to the global health crisis, resumes the competition with a high level of quality and skill of the players. country representatives.

The Canary Salsa Open is part of the worldwide network of World Salsa Openone of the most important and prestigious salsa dance competitions in the world for couples, individuals and groups, which is also part of the “top ten” of dance events in Europe and continues to consolidate.

The dance contest mobilized hundreds of salsa lovers who for three days have been able to enjoy not only this competition but also parallel activities and the premiere presentation in Santa Cruz de Tenerife of the musical ‘El Sonido de la Calle’.

This event has had the collaboration of the Canary Institute for Cultural Development (ICDC); Development Society of the City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife; Autonomous Organization of Culture of the city hall; Puerto Rico Tourism Company; Be-Radio Club Tenerife; newspaper El Día; Watch me TV; Base Sports Health; Throw Sauce on it; Dragon Lithograph; Tunera.Es; Restaurants- Pizzerias Da Canio; Bamboo Lounge&Bar; Y Aguidance Projects.
