The City Council of La Laguna has already begun the assembly work for the main stage of the Festivities of Christ 2022which after the two-year hiatus marked by the pandemic will be held again normally and will have an extensive program of outdoor events that will be announced next Tuesday.
The mayor, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, and the Councilor for Festivities, Badel Albelo, yesterday visited the installation of the infrastructure in the Plaza del Cristo, which will have dimensions of 360 square meters of platform. The assembly of the technical structures and the closing of the acoustic chamber is proceeding according to plan so that everything is ready for the first of the events scheduled in the venue, on September 2, with the zarzuela show that the Symphony Orchestra of Tenerife.
The square will have a capacity of approximately 5,000 seats, a capacity that will increase considerably in shows in which the public goes standing.
“The Fiestas del Cristo finally return to their natural space, which are the streets and squares of our city, and for this we will have a venue with the best conditions,” says Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, who is convinced that “the great The program of events that has been drawn up by the Department of Fiestas will be highly attractive to all audiences”.
In this line, Badel Albelo highlights that “in recent months we have been working to have a festive and cultural offer as the main festivals of our city deserve. There will be music of all genres, humor, theater, folklore, children’s acts and of course, our fireworks.
Although the program of events has not yet been made official, the stage of the Plaza del Cristo will host the concerts and performances linked to these festivities, such as the Sabandeño Festival, the concert by the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, the Night of Humor, the Seniors’ Day or the Night of Traditions.
On the other hand, La Laguna continues this weekend with the festive program in the different towns and neighbourhoods. Tejina lives her big day tomorrow with the entrance of the hearts to the church square three years later. La Candelaria also has an important date today with the concert by Carlos Baute, Guamasa begins its patron saint festivities and the celebrations continue in Coromoto, Las Gavias, San Bartolomé de Geneto, Las Chumberas, Valle Jiménez and Camino Tornero.
