Four people have been affected, one of them seriously, after a fire broke out in a house located on the second floor of a building in Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife), reported the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 112.
The Cecoes activated various emergency services after receiving a notice of the fire in a house located on Mequínez street, where the firefighters went to extinguish the flames that affected the second floor, and that spread to the upper floors of the affected building.
The doctor and a nurse from the Primary Care health center and three ambulances from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) also attended, whose staff assisted four people, one of them seriously ill.
Those affected are a 60-year-old man, who at the initial moment of care had burns on his arms and serious intoxication due to smoke inhalation, and who was transferred in a medicalized ambulance from the SUC to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands.
In addition, a 45-year-old man suffered mild smoke inhalation poisoning, and was referred to a hospital in the municipality.
A 66-year-old man and a 72-year-old woman were also affected by mild smoke inhalation poisoning, who refused to be transferred to a health center.
Likewise, agents of the National and Local Police took charge of the corresponding proceedings.
According to the Local Police, until the building is valued by the municipal planning service, the residents will not be able to return to their homes.
