SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 26 Aug. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Roads area of the Cabildo de Tenerife is about to complete the construction of the Chayofa roundabout on the TF-28 island road, which will give access to this urban center of the municipality of Arona more quickly and safely with a roundabout of 20 meters of external radius that will regulate the traffic of an average of 19,000 vehicles per day.

The first vice president of the Cabildo and councilor for Highways, Enrique Arriaga, has visited this infrastructure in which the corporation has invested 418,292 euros, together with the mayor of Arona, José Julián Mena, the councilor for Security, Francisco Marichal, and the island director Tomas Felix Garcia.

Arriaga stressed that “the Cabildo throughout this mandate has worked to eliminate the black spots on the island’s roads and an example is the construction of this Chayofa roundabout that will be in operation in mid-October or the one that will soon be will build in Guargacho and that will also contribute to improving circulation in the Arona coastal area”.

In his opinion, “we are intervening decisively on the island’s roads, not only rehabilitating the pavements but also providing solutions that contribute to making traffic flow and that result in user safety”.

The mayor of Arona, José Julián Mena, explained that the construction of the roundabout responds “to a historic demand by thousands of people who circulate daily on the general highway, as well as by the inhabitants of the Chayofa area, who they did not have easy access to urbanization”.

Until now, he added, “the road was a black mark for those who accessed Chayofa making the turn from the main highway so as not to have to go up to La Camella, in the same way that it will allow them to make the change of direction in a much simpler, improving mobility in the area”.

In this meeting, the Minister of Highways and Mayor Arona shared other important interventions for the municipality that have already been planned and that will be launched in the coming months, collects a note from the Cabildo.
