The Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (Cecoes) has indicated that the residents of this area of the Anaga coast alerted 112 this morning about the sighting of the body, which was located by Maritime Rescue personnel, who in turn participate in the operation search started since the disappearance.
The body was recovered by the crew of the Salvamento Marítimo Helimer helicopter and was transferred to the Tenerife Sur airport for identification.
The search operation began after the alert for the disappearance last Tuesday of a swimmer of Italian nationality and in the device they have participated, in addition to Maritime Rescue, the helicopter and ground teams of the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) of the Government of Canary Islands, National and Local Police and Civil Guard.
The lifeguards of the Almáciga beach, where the bather was when he was in trouble at sea, as well as Civil Protection of Santa Cruz de Tenerife with drone units and Anaga Emergency Assistance, have also participated in his search.
