SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 24 Aug. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife has already opened the deadline to submit applications for scholarships and study aid for the academic year 2022-2023.
The aid will have four lines: university studies, artistic studies, vocational training studies, and students with special educational needs.
All will be processed exclusively electronically until October 31, except for those intended for students with special needs, which closes on November 30 and can also be requested through the entry register.
The island’s president, Pedro Martín, highlights in a note “the efforts made by the Cabildo, in very difficult years so that the economic crisis does not pose an obstacle for young people on the island to pursue their studies.”
Martín highlights the importance of these scholarships, “which help to alleviate the burden of educational expenses for families”, and highlights that last year more than 4,400 young students benefited “not counting the language immersion scholarships, which were granted to another 490 students.
The Minister of Education and Youth, Concepción Rivero, recalls that the Cabildo has arranged an item of 5,750,000 euros for study aid and contemplates increasing this amount up to double if necessary to prevent family income from being an impediment to the regulated training development of young people from Tenerife.
Rivero insists that “we want to guarantee the educational development of all students, they have great potential and the Cabildo, knowing the current economic difficulties of many families, wants to preserve their vocation.”
The maximum amount in the lines of university, artistic and professional training studies will be 6,000 euros in 2022-2023, without prejudice to obtaining the additional amount of 500 euros in the case of large families, in which there is a person with a disability or in dependency situation.
Thus, for example, the largest amounts will range from 1,200 euros for students with special educational needs to 6,500 euros for university and Vocational Training students.
The bases and all the necessary information to be able to carry out the request and processing can be found on the page www.tenerifejovenyeduca.com.
In general, the requirements for obtaining the aid are as follows: habitual residence in Tenerife, family income per person not exceeding 20,000 euros, which is reduced to 10,000 in the case of students with special educational needs, and enrollment equivalent to one course .
