The internationally famous surfer, 2-time champion of Spain in the absolute category and a phenomenon on social networks, where she has more than 100,000 followers, is a great lover of the waves of the Canary Islands, which she resorts to especially in the winter season for its quality, water temperature and good atmosphere.
The Bitácora Women Surf Retreat is the first surf camp for girls organized at the Hotel Bitácora, an exclusive program that only 16 surfers who are asked to have a surfing base can access, and will take place between the 5th and the 9th October on the coast of Playa de Las Américas, although there will be a training session in a secret spot that will not be revealed until the same day.
The experience includes daily surf sessions with Lucía Martiño herself, with video analysis of the training sessions, yoga every morning with Gellytza and moments of disconnection in the afternoons on the rooftop Up! del Bitácora, with cocktails and the music of Dj Qela. This surf camp can only be booked with an all-inclusive stay, with access to the spa and special prices for early bookings.
“Holding my own surfcamp is an idea that has been in my head for a long time, so when I found out about Bitácora last year, with all the services it offers for surfers and its proximity to the beach, I saw that it was a real possibility and I I launched with the proposal”, says Martiño. “Furthermore, I think that the date could not be more accurate, just when the cold begins in all of Europe and in Tenerife the temperature of the water is still perfect for training.” For Lucía, the objective of this camp is not just an intensive surfing, although as an expert she will share some of her secrets. “We have designed a program designed to enjoy surfing but also the environment and parallel activities, a few days to create family and have fun.”
Born in Gijón in 1994, Martiño has been linked to surfing since she was 11 years old and since then she has achieved the title of Spanish Junior Champion and has been 2 times Absolute Spanish Champion. A great lover of world travel, Tenerife is one of his destinations to practice his favorite sport, which he has managed to turn into his way of life, and the Hotel Bitácora is his reference establishment when he goes to train in the south of the island, for its proximity to Las Américas beach (it allows you to walk in 2 minutes) and its relationship with surfing, where the changing room with lockers to wash and store boards and material with direct access from the street and all the necessary amenities stand out.
Designed by the art director Lauro Samblás, whose work stands out for its color and geometry, it has been built with fun as its leitmotif and surfing as a reference. Its director, Nuria del Amo, is also a fan of surfing and for her “it is a dream come true to be able to bring Lucía to our hotel, I have been a follower of her career for years and her lifestyle fits perfectly with our philosophy .”
