SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 24 Aug. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The National Police located this Tuesday the human remains of a man in a wooded and steep area of ​​Monte de las Mercedes in the Anaga area, in Tenerife, thus closing the special search device started a week ago, when the notice was received.

The operation was launched on August 16 when some young people were flying and lost a drone in the Anaga rural park.

During their search for the aircraft, which they located near but far from the Hiedras runway, in a very wooded and steep area of ​​difficult access, they saw some belongings such as a sleeping bag, remains of canned food and a wallet with documentation. , apparently abandoned, giving notice to the National Police.

Immediately, national agents went to the area, corroborating the information given by the young people.

The documentation corresponded to the identity of a man missing for more than a year that the National Police had not stopped looking for since the disappearance report was filed in July of last year, a note from the body collects.

During the days after the absence, specialized agents interviewed the surroundings of the disappeared person and obtained data that made it possible to close the circle to search, from the most common areas such as his neighborhood or the places he frequented, to those places where he He liked to go hiking, with the participation of aerial means and the collaboration of Civil Protection. However, all searches were unsuccessful.


The investigations continued their course during all this time, without ruling out any possibility regarding his disappearance, given the statements of the people around him and the comments of the disappeared person made before his departure, until last week the notice was received of the location of your documentation.

At the same time, the area, characterized by difficult-to-access orography, was visited and an assessment of the means necessary to establish the device was carried out.

SPECIALIZED DOG

As soon as a concrete clue was found, continues the National Police, a team was assembled made up of members of the judicial police from the Local Police Station of La Laguna and the Provincial Brigade of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, as well as aerial means and canine guides from the Headquarters Superior de Canarias, the latter located on the island of Gran Canaria.

Specifically, it is the first time that a dog specialized in locating biological remains was mobilized by helicopter between the islands of Gran Canaria and Tenerife, given the importance of the case.

Thus, once on the ground, the canine handler located a human skeleton covered in weeds, twenty meters from where the belongings and documentation were found, impossible to see with the naked eye and with no apparent signs of violence, therefore, pending the pertinent investigations that are ongoing, no type of etiology has been ruled out.

Everything indicates that it is IP, 30 years old, disappeared in July 2021.

However, the Police point out, everything is pending so that the samples obtained at the scene are analyzed at the Forensic Anatomical Institute, where the identity of the remains found will be scientifically determined.
