SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 24 Aug. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The General Directorate of Security and Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands, in application of the Special Plan for Civil Protection and Emergency Attention for Forest Fires of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands (INFOCA), has decreed emergency level 1 in the fire that has originated this Wednesday afternoon in the Camino Guillén area, on the border between the municipalities of El Rosario and La Laguna.
The fire has so far burned just over three hectares of land and 25 people who live in the area of Las Erillas and Juan Fernández have been evacuated preventively.
Two helicopters from the GES (Emergencies and Rescue Group), Eirif teams from the Government of the Canary Islands based in La Gomera and members of the Canarian Police and Local Police from the two municipalities participate in the extinction device.
In order not to hinder the work, traffic cuts have been made in El Ortigal, Zamorano Street and Camino Guillén.
