The Centro-Ifara district of the Santa Cruz City Council, directed by Guillermo Díaz Guerra, recovers the cinema in the capital for the next days 9, 10 and 11 September in the García Sanabria Park, with the collaboration of the Tenerife International Film Music Festival (Fimucite), directed by the composer and conductor Diego Navarro.
The cycle will begin on Friday, September 9 with Tron, written and directed by Steven Lisberger, while on Saturday, the 10th, Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner will be seen, two great classics that this year reach their 40th anniversary. On Sunday, the celebrated anime Akira (1989), by Katsuhiro Otomo, will put the finishing touch. The screenings, which will be in the original version with Spanish subtitles, will have free admission and will begin at 8:00 p.m.
The acting mayor, Guillermo Díaz Guerra, has indicated that “the García Sanabria park will become a giant open-air movie theater for three days, in which three films will be screened, one per day. It is a magnificent opportunity to recover this traditional initiative that has been lost over time, and that, without a doubt, we are convinced that the park is an ideal place to enjoy the cinema in summer and in a family atmosphere ” .
