a hundred of young canariesincluding some who came from the peninsula, began yesterday to share their journeys to overcome cancer and smile more than ever at life, at the premiere of the fifth edition of the summer camp organized by the Canary Foundation Little Valiente, in this occasion in the Camping Nautain Las Galletas, in the municipality of Arona.
A Canarian summer that will take place until the 28th of this month with children between 8 and 13 years old and from August 29 to September 4 with young people between 14 and 18 years old, loaded with different leisure activities, both sports and cultural, with the support of the Cabildo de Tenerife.
The insular vice-president, Enrique Arriaga, visited the children yesterday, together with the insular director of Education and Youth, Isabel Bello, and explained that “how could it be otherwise, the Cabildo supports this type of initiative that is so positive both for minors as well as for families. To which he added that “for the first time we fully finance this activity, children deserve, especially after the pandemic, whose restrictions have affected them more than most children, a camp with all the guarantees of health care that offers security and peace of mind to their families, that’s what we work for”.
“It is a meeting and exchange space that minimizes the effects that the disease has on minors and their families, and that offers an opportunity for leisure between people who share life experiences,” he said.
The president of Pequeño Valiente, José Jerez, thanked “the important support of the Cabildo to carry out this new edition” and pointed out that “boys and girls from all the islands and the peninsula participate in the camp. From Pequeno Valiente we will continue working to make it a success, the children have fun and that next year it will be repeated in Tenerife”.
