The resurfacing of Benítez de Lugo street, in Villa de Arico, is one of the works demanded by the groups and a “great need”.» taking into account the terrible state in which it was. With a budget of 23,596 euros, the works are carried out at the initiative of the Works and Services area, in coordination with the Contracting area of the City Council of Arico, says the municipal government.
The work takes place in the town of Villa de Arico, with a qualification of Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC), for which it has the approval of the Historical Heritage of the Cabildo and the mandatory authorizations, he says. The work being carried out consists of resurfacing the entire street and painting the horizontal signage.

The mayor of Arico, Sebastian Martin, pointed out that this resurfacing “will solve the access to one of the main streets of the town and supposes the beginning of a new set of works that will be executed during the next dates”. He recalls that it is part of the approved budget modification, “which allows to cover the needs of the ariqueros and advance in the improvement of care and services.”
The Councilor for Works and Services, Juan José Armas, stressed that with this work “we comply with one of the main requests of the neighbors”, and stressed that it is the prelude to a package of actions to materialize in the coming months.
Along these lines, the mayor of Finance and Contracting, Víctor García, alluded to the fact that these projects include the maintenance of Abades, the installation of lighting points in El Bueno or the improvement of Las Arenas, among others.

This work is added to those already carried out, such as the lighting in the Villa de Arico cemetery, the bicycle repair and parking totems, the bio-healthy equipment in points of the municipality, the resurfacing of Lomo La Fuente street in La Cisnera, the rehabilitation of the El Río Cultural Center, the improvement of the electrical network of the four schools and the water supply in the El Cielo urbanization, in Tajao, or the adaptation of the pedestrian path and free space in Las Conchas Marinas Street, in the neighborhood from La Caleta.
