Alexia Izquierdo Bello was chosen queen of the August festivities of La Victoria, during a gala in which she paraded along with five other candidates in a bathing suit and evening dress. In addition, among the six candidates for Mister, the jury chose the young Aday Florentín Rodríguez.
The gala, directed by Alexis Santana, took place in El Pinar Park, with the presence of more than 1,200 people, who completed the capacity. In it acted the winner of the 2019 La Voz Kids television contest, Irene Gil; the Butterfly Effect group and the Canarian humorist Kike Pérez, who made the public vibrate with his latest comedy show, in addition to the ballet La Vica.
Next Thursday, the 25th, on the same stage, the celebration of the 39th anniversary of the Añate folkloric group will take place, which will offer the show Drums, for The Palm. On Friday, starting at 8:30 p.m. and in Plaza Rodríguez Gala, the celebration and coronation gala of the pilgrimage will take place.
The festivities began with the intervention of José María Hernández Pérez, a well-known pulmonologist and native of the municipality, who read the proclamation, full of emotion and memories of his childhood that he shared with the neighbors. In this act, the mayor of the municipality, Juan Antonio García Abreu, in addition to welcoming the development of the festivities, announced that the City Council will donate to those affected by the Tajogaite volcano (La Palma) one euro for each resident registered in La Victoria, a total of 9,230 euros.
