In the facilities of the José Luis Montesinos Foundation solidarity garden, this week the Community Welfare area, together with the company responsible for the city’s cleaning and waste management service (Valoriza), has installed a compost bin that will serve to convert the organic waste from the festivals that take place in the municipality into compostable material, starting this weekend with the Phe Festival and continuing next week with the Oktober Fest.
“This initiative is part of the ongoing work that is carried out across areas to develop actions so that the different events continue to make progress in sustainability,” the Porto City Council details in a note. “From the City Council we appreciate the active participation of the promoters of Phe Festival and Oktober Fest,” he adds.
