SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 20 Aug. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Cabildo de Tenerife will activate different extraordinary measures of grade 1 for the prevention of forest fires this Sunday, due to the alert decreed by the General Directorate of Security and Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands.

As reported by the Insular Corporation, while this alert lasts, the cultural use of fire (prescribed agricultural and forest burning, stubble, scrub, waste…) and recreational use (barbecues, bonfires, camp fires and cooking stoves) are prohibited. gas, among others).

In the same way, the use of any type of machinery or tool that can project sparks (brushcutters, welding equipment or radial cutters) and the use of any pyrotechnic material in risk areas is suspended.

In this regard, the Minister of Management of the Natural Environment and Security, Isabel García, also indicated that the route of the Barranco de Masca will remain closed on Sunday due to high temperatures, which could exceed 36 degrees.

From the Cabildo it is recommended in this way to take extreme precautions with any activity that can generate fires (tobacco, use of generator sets, electrical and pyrotechnic material…) and the Forest Management Technical Service is ordered to establish the necessary services to deal with the risk situation.
