The municipal pavilion of El Chorrillo, which will soon be called Leticia Batista, is undergoing renovation work on its playing surface for the first time since it opened in 2006. After 16 years and several floods due to torrential rains, the City Council’s Department of Sports is executing an important investment in the main sports center of the municipality that exceeds 50,000 euros. Along with the work to replace the pavement and improve the surface, the restrooms are being renovated. Added to this is the renovation of the lighting sources with new LED technology projectors, an action that has already been carried out previously.

The mayor of El Rosario, Escolástico Gil, and the mayor of Sports, Juan Jesús del Rosario, yesterday visited the lifting works of the 1,300 square meters of PVC surface and the cleaning and drying of the concrete floor. The new surface will be composed of a highly elastic colored coating based on acrylic resins and an elastic granulated rubber mat, which improves the performance of the previous one by having greater resistance to wear, ultraviolet rays and humidity.
