The Salud-La Salle district, led by councilor Carlos Tarife, and groups from the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival are organizing this Saturday, August 20, a summer party in the old La Salud market, which will start at 11:00 a.m. in the morning and will end at 8:00 p.m., under the name “MercaVeranea”. This day will also serve to learn up close how the groups of our most popular party rehearse during the year.
This free event is aimed at all the members of the different Carnival groups, lovers of our most popular festival and the residents of the area, who can enjoy it from 11:00 in the morning, where activities will take place for the little ones in the early hours, with water inflatables and a children’s foam party.
Later, a lunch will be offered for all attendees, with a great paella. While in the afternoon, starting at 4:00 p.m., Pepe Benavente will perform, as well as Renzzo El Selector and Clave de Son. All this accompanied by the rhythm of the different Carnival groups that rehearse there throughout the year.
Tarife has stated that “we want to take advantage of this summer time to celebrate the return to normality of group rehearsals in a traditional area such as the old La Salud market, in a kind of starting signal for the next Carnival”.
The person in charge of the Salud-La Salle district wanted to remember that “MercaVeranea is an event aimed at all those residents, of any age, who want to come to spend a festive day, where the Carnival groups will have a special role.”
