A man arrested in La Laguna who, under the influence of drugs, gave a false bomb alarm, assaulted a police officer and beat himself up

The National Police has arrested a 30-year-old man for attacking the authority after assaulting the two agents who went to the place where a possible bomb was sighted in San Cristóbal de La Laguna. The notice, which turned out to be false, was activated by the detainee himself on the night of this Wednesday, August 17.

The policemen were carrying out patrol tasks when they received the alert that a possible explosive device could be found on public roads, made by the owner of a motorcycle who had seen a suspicious package on it, parked on the street.

When they went there, two officials found a man in a state of agitation, speaking very loudly and in an aggressive attitude towards them. The policemen asked him to calm down and identify himself, but, far from obeying, the individual confronted the agents and tried to snatch their weapons. Failing to do so, he fled, bumping into another agent on the way, who had come to inspect the place where the motorcycle and the possible device were parked, finding nothing. Once in front of the policeman, he attacked him in a surprising way, throwing him to the ground and causing minor injuries.

Immediately, the other two agents arrived at the scene and proceeded to arrest this subject, requiring the application of the minimum force necessary to reduce him. In addition, the detainee, who was still in a very aggressive attitude, caused injuries to himself and damage to the vehicle by hitting himself, requiring his transfer to a medical center where it was found that the aggressor was under the influence of narcotic substances, with probable signs of visual and auditory hallucinations.
