The Cabildo allocates 420,000 euros to gender equality projects. Non-profit associations, federations and women’s groups, as well as the island’s municipalities, may attend the call for free participation. Of the total amount, 200,000 euros will go to subsidize initiatives presented by non-profit associations, to women’s federations, and 100,000 for the municipalities of Tenerife.
The Official Gazette of the Province (BOP) published the bases for non-profit associations with a deadline for submitting applications that ends on the 23rd. Meanwhile, the Tenerife consistories have until September 1 to register their initiatives. The publication in the Bulletin of the bases for the projects of women’s associations and federations is scheduled for next week.
The CEO of Equality and Prevention of Gender Violence, Priscila de León, clarifies that it is aid for projects that promote equality and the fight against gender violence and favor egalitarian relations in the economic, social or educational.
De León underlines: “From the Cabildo we combine efforts and resources to work together with institutions and organizations and promote projects committed to equality that encourage training, employment and economic independence of participating women.”
The island official highlights in this year’s edition the inclusion of projects aimed at making visible the specific needs and problems faced by women over 65, a particularly vulnerable sector “to help them empower themselves and strengthen support networks for the collective », highlights.
The projects will have to begin their execution this year with a maximum term for carrying out the proposed activity of twelve months. 38 projects were submitted to the 2021 call. Of these, 12 were from entities, 18 from municipalities, and 8 from women’s associations and federations.
