The mayor of La Victoria de Acentejo, Juan Antonio García Abreu, and the Councilor for Festivities, Yurena Gutiérrez González, presented this Thursday the program of events for the 2022 Patron Saint Festivities in honor of the Virgin Our Lady of La Encarnación. During the act, the draw for the starting order of the candidates in each of the galas was carried out.
During the twelve days in which the program will take place, from August 19 to 31, the municipality will be transformed to host a multitude of events aimed at all audiences with special attention to activities for the whole family. The opening of the program will take place on Friday, August 19, with the reading of the Proclamation that this year will be given by José María Hernández Pérez, internationally known pulmonologist of the municipality. From there and until August 31 there will be daily activities, among which the youth and Romera Mayor galas stand out, as well as Family Sundays, the Festival of Humor and the already traditional and long-awaited “Night Bold”
After two years of hiatus, the government team has wanted to compensate local artists who have been greatly damaged by the pandemic. “A way to strengthen and value their work”, highlighted the mayor, Juan Antonio García Abreu, who has invited the residents of the region to get to know the corners of the municipality, the gastronomy and the local wines.
One of the most anticipated acts is the 42nd Pilgrimage in Honor of San Isidro Labrador, which will take place on Saturday, August 27, starting at 5:00 p.m. and for which a large influx of people is expected, even greater than in the last edition held in 2019. For the Councilor for Fiestas, Yurena Gutierrez, “it is a diverse and inclusive program in which the entire town has participated”
In this presentation, the draw has been made for the order in which each of the candidates will parade in their respective finery. The starting order of the hopefuls for Queen of the Holidays will be as follows: Erika Padilla Hernández, Irene Reyes Gutierrez, Alexia Izquierdo Bello, Adelia Pilar Hernández Gutiérrez, Paula Felipe Izquierdo and Paula Correa Gutiérrez. The six candidates for Mister will come out in the following order: Alejandro Felipe Izquierdo, Jorge González González, Lamine Diop, Aday Florentín Rodríguez, Serigne Gueye and Ancor Hernández Lucas.
As for the candidates for Romera Mayor, they will do so as follows: Bárbara Castillo Rodríguez, Ana Ocampos González, Pilar Yanes Gutiérrez, Dolores Hernández Posada.
