Agents of the National Police arrested a 26-year-old young man with a police record in the capital of Tenerife, as the alleged perpetrator of the crimes of robbery with force in things, identity theft and document forgery.
The National Police patrols went to a vacation apartment in the César Casariego area, a capital neighborhood. There, the occupant of one of the rooms stated that his neighbor had stolen $2,000, the computer and the credit card.
The agents interviewed the accused, who was about to leave the apartment. In the control of his personal effects, the agents seized two IDs whose theft had been reported by two residents of Gran Canaria. What’s more, this person had a flight ticket and a smartphone high-end purchased in the name of one of those two citizens.
Fake profiles on social networks
The national police, thanks to instantaneous proceedings carried out at the police station, learned that this individual had met one of the residents of Gran Canaria through social networks, thanks to a profile with false data.
Upon returning home, the Gran Canaria found that they had taken his wallet, with his ID and credit cards. From this moment on, the victim’s ordeal began as they made improper charges on the card, they fraudulently opened a bank account and a telephone line in his name.
The National Police patrol, who found the computer, money and cards that had initially motivated their intervention hidden in common areas of the apartment, proceeded to arrest the young man, who had a police record for similar events in other Spanish cities. .
The actions were carried out by national police officers from the Provincial Police Station of the National Police of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
