Four web cameras report on the state of the municipality’s beaches

Arona continues to improve the infrastructure and services on its beaches with the installation of webcams on the main beaches of the municipality, which will be available to everyone via streaming. The municipality has opted to take a leap in quality by improving infrastructure and services with the implementation of four webcams in Playa Honda, El Camisón, Las Vistas and Los Cristianos, for the transmission of live images without interruption.

These cameras allow to verify the state of the beaches, the weather, waves, as well as their influx. Access to the images transmitted by these webcams is completely free through the municipal website www.arona.org.

Among the improvements that are intended to be implemented on the Arona coastline, a videometry system is included to monitor sandbanks and bathing areas, using specific cameras that capture images from a fixed point of view at known intervals.

These data will allow the monitoring of different coastal processes, in addition to knowing the density of users in real time and continuously. These systems will be implemented on the beaches of Las Vistas and Los Cristianos.

Two meteorological stations will also be installed, which will be located in Playa Honda and Playa de Las Vistas, which will be in charge of providing information on ambient temperature, humidity, wind speed, atmospheric pressure, among other parameters.

This is one more service that the local government promotes as it understands that it reinforces the value of the municipality as a destination.
