ALDI continues to implement its expansion plan in Canary Islands with the opening of a fourth store in Tenerife, specifically in the municipality of Adeje. The company now has six supermarkets in the Canary Islands, after opening three stores in Tenerife and another two in Gran Canaria during the last month.
The new establishment in Adeje will open its doors on August 24, at number 37 Avenida de Los Barrancos. It will have a commercial area of more than 1,500 square meters.
The supermarket will make 130 parking spaces available to customers, including four that have recharging points for electric vehicles. It will also have energy efficiency systems, such as solar panels and LED lighting.
The new store will offer residents of the area a new comfortable and simple shopping option with quality products at the lowest possible price. Among them, the more than 330 articles of Canarian origin stand out, such as fresh products, dairy products, drinks, frozen foods and cosmetics, among others, from more than 60 Canarian producers. In fact, in its commitment to proximity and trust towards the archipelago’s producers, 20% of ALDI’s assortment in the Canary Islands will be from local suppliers.
Between July and the beginning of this month, the company opened its first five supermarkets in the archipelago, three in Tenerife (located in Los Rodeos, Polígono Industrial El Carretón de Arafo and Las Chafiras, in San Miguel de Abona) and two in Gran Canaria. With these openings and the next ones scheduled for 2022, ALDI will have generated more than 240 jobs in the Canary Islands by the end of this year, adding office, store and logistics platform staff.
