SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 9 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The outbreak of forest fire declared yesterday Monday in the municipality of Los Realejos, in the north of Tenerife, has been considered controlled today Tuesday at 11:08 a.m., as reported by the Coordination Center of the Insular Operation against Forest Fires (Cecopin) of the Council of Tenerife.
The fire started yesterday at noon on the road to Las Cabezadas, in Icod el Alto, and has affected about 2 hectares of vegetation. Land and air resources from the Cabildo de Tenerife, the Firefighters Consortium and the Government of the Canary Islands have been working on the extinction work.
Yesterday, the device was made up of three helicopters, a heavy urban bomb and a 4×4 transport vehicle from the Firefighters Consortium; five teams (two dissuasive and three Vamtac), two pumpers and three Environment technicians from the Cabildo and the Government of the Canary Islands.
The Cecopin has also reported that the forest fire that started on July 21 in Los Realejos and San Juan de la Rambla has not yet been considered extinguished and hot spots and columns of smoke can still be produced. The staff of the Brifor operation of the Cabildo de Tenerife continues to work on the extinction of these points.
