SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 10 Aug. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has reported two new cases and one in study of monkeypox since yesterday, so since the beginning of the declaration of the health alert there have been 134 confirmed cases, of which 82 were detected in Gran Canaria. Canaria, 46 in Tenerife, four in Fuerteventura, one in La Palma and one in Lanzarote
All active cases are having mild symptoms and remain in home isolation receiving follow-up from Primary Care.
Thus, the confirmed and notified cases in the Canary Islands since the beginning of the alert and until today are as follows: 134 confirmed cases, 82 in Gran Canaria, 46 in Tenerife, four in Fuerteventura, one in La Palma and one in Lanzarote; ten suspected cases, pending confirmation, three notified in Tenerife, three in Fuerteventura, two in Lanzarote, one in Gran Canaria and one in La Palma.
The protocol of the Ministry of Health classifies cases between probable and suspected depending on whether the patient meets clinical criteria and epidemiological criteria (probable cases) or if it only presents clinical criteria and in such case it is considered a suspected case.
