SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 9 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Since last Friday, the Canary Islands have registered 520 new positives in covid-19 among people over 60 years of age, which is the population group that is followed up after passing the acute phase of the pandemic, so the accumulated number of cases of coronavirus among this group amounts to 93,908 people in the Canary Islands.
On the other hand, in the last four days there have been six deaths, four reported in Tenerife and two in Gran Canaria. All the people, aged between 76 and 97 years, had previous pathologies and were hospitalized.
The Cumulative Incidence for this age group at 14 days stands at 521.69 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 7 days at 239.85. Since last July 8, a sustained decrease in the cumulative incidence at 7 days has been observed, when we reached 913 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
Currently, in the Archipelago there are 300 people admitted with coronavirus, of which 24 are in the ICU and the rest, 276, on the ward.
