A fire in the area of Icod el Alto, in the municipality of Los Realejos, activated all the alarms yesterday morning. The fire stirred up the ghosts of previous episodes in the area and, in particular, of the most recent one. However, in the end everything was in a scare: was stabilized in just a few hours, as confirmed from Council of Tenerife.

The insular corporation estimated at two hectares the surface of vegetation devastated by this fire, which was declared on the Las Cabezadas highway, in the town of Icod el Alto.

After knowing what was happening, Three helicopters, a heavy urban bomb and a 4×4 transport vehicle traveled to the area. of Firefighters of Tenerife, in addition to five other teams (two dissuasive and three Vamtac), two pumpers and three Brifor Environment technicians. The operation managed to stop the flames.

More in detail, the alarms went off mid-morning this Monday with a column of smoke that could be seen in the North of Tenerife. The concern followed not only the number of outbreaks and fires that have occurred for years on this side of the Island, but especially after that same area was affected by the fire last July and ended up burning something more than 2,700 hectares after a week of fighting the fire.
