El Socorro beach, located in the municipality of The Realejoswill offer free cinema to its visitors as it will once again become “A cinema beach” with the recovery of its annual cycle, in which six films will be screened outdoors for six days, between August 16 and 21.
This activity, which consists of livening up the summer with free movie sessions, is organized by the Youth Department of the Los Realejos City Council, whose manager, José David Cabrera, explains in a statement that the proposal “has a program outside the circuit commercial, which tries to delve into cultural, social and environmental awareness teachings, focusing on education in values”.
Free cinema on the beach, but respecting nature
For his part, the third deputy mayor of the corporation, Moisés Darío Pérez, recalls that during the screenings “civic norms must prevail in the face of this concentration of people in a natural enclave, maintaining maximum respect for the space and leaving it cleaner than ever before. what was found.”
The free film sessions will begin each of the days indicated at 9:30 p.m. and will begin on Tuesday, August 16 with the feature film “How to survive in a material world” by Miranda July, while the day of August 17 will be dedicated to psychological terror with the film by director Adam Robitel “Escape Room”.
On Thursday the 18th, “Time” will be screened, the work of the director of other titles such as “The Sixth Sense” and “Signs”, Manoj Nelliyattu Shyamalan.
For Friday the 19th, a film for all audiences has been selected based on Jack London’s literary classic “The Call of the Wild”, created by filmmaker Chris Sanders; scheme that will be repeated on Saturday 20 with “Peter Rabbit 2: On the run”, a film for all ages directed by Will Gluck.
“El Socorro, a beach de cine” will close its program on Sunday 21 with the screening of “Flying Together”, a documentary film about the climate crisis, directed by Nicolas Vanier.
