SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 8 Aug. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife and the Insular Institute of Social and Socio-Sanitary Care (IASS) have put out to tender the insular service of Social Tourism for the island’s elderly people. On this occasion, internal tourism is promoted, so interested companies from Tenerife will have until August 16 to present their proposals.
Specifically, 576 people over 65 years of age will be able to benefit from this initiative, which will offer five days of vacations in tourist establishments in the north and south of the island.
The Third Vice President and Minister of Social Action, Marián Franquet, explained that this initiative, which was paralyzed by the pandemic, is now being recovered as a method to promote active aging among the citizens of Tenerife.
In addition, he added that it is a project that will help reactivate the hotel sector throughout the island. “Many older people have been waiting to enjoy a service of this type for a long time, since it is an activity that generates multiple benefits, because not only promotes coexistence among equals, but also gives them the opportunity to enjoy tourist activities and leisure time, essential for promoting the autonomy of these people, through a quality tourism program,” he added.
For this reason, the minister invited interested companies to participate in this initiative, which “will not only generate economic benefits for local companies, but will also provide a quality bonus to the lives of our elderly people.”
The 576 places provided will be distributed in groups of 24 people, who will enjoy a stay of days and four nights in hotels in the north and south, on a full board basis. Likewise, the tourist package includes complementary leisure and entertainment activities.
The bidding budget amounts to 259,200 euros and the execution period will be three months. Interested entities can consult the specifications for this tender on the Public Sector Contracting Platform. You can also send your queries to the email [email protected].
