SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 9 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Users of the Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria Hospital Complex, a center attached to the Health Department of the Government of the Canary Islands, have scored 8.64 for the care received during the time they were admitted to the health center, according to the Satisfaction Survey to Hospital Discharge (ESAH) of 2021, carried out on almost a thousand patients.
This survey is carried out every year by the Canary Islands Health Service (SCS) and is used to find out the opinion of patients admitted to each hospital about their care activity. In this way, aspects such as the treatment received, the information, the reception or the quality of the care provided are analysed.
During 2021, a total of 939 patients were surveyed, 428 more than the previous year. Of the total number of patients, 52.1 percent are women and 47.9 percent are men, and the ages with the greatest response are those between 50 and 69 years, preceded by people over 70 years of age.
Of the total number of people surveyed, 64.1 percent were admitted to the hospital for emergencies and 53.1 percent had a stay of less than 5 days. It stands out that 27 patients surveyed were English, two were German and two French.
Among the services that have obtained an assessment of more than 9 points are the care areas of Thoracic Surgery, Hematology and Pulmonology.
96.76 percent of users highlight respect for their privacy when they remain hospitalized and 94.24 percent value obtaining clear information on the progress of their disease. Likewise, they are widely satisfied with the care received by the hospital staff.
On the other hand, regarding the obstetric area, the patients highlight the fact of having obtained information on breastfeeding, as well as on the care of the newborn, being 95.18 percent of the people surveyed.
Users continue to give a high value to the quality of care offered by the staff of the hospital complex, both health and non-health, highlighting the perceived treatment and the human and professional quality of all the staff.
