The Mayor of La Matanza de Acentejo, Ignacio Rodríguez Jorge, recently held a working meeting with the General Director of Tourism Infrastructure of the Government of the Canary Islands, Fernando Miñarro Mena, in which several projects for La Matanza that have valuable tourism potential were analyzed .
The area councilor, Alexis Armas, also participated in the meeting in which the local president insisted on the need to support the distinctive strengths that municipalities such as La Matanza present for the tourism sector compared to the traditional model.
The nature and landscape, the traditional culture, the historical landmarks, the gastronomy or, in cases like Matanzas, the access to quality night sky observations, give shape to a potential to be explored in the future that was valued by part of the Matanzas mayor.
