La Laguna will tender for more than 21 million euros the service to improve its road network

The Governing Board of the City Council of La Laguna has approved the procedure for the contracting of the new service of maintenance, conservation, reform and improvement of municipal roads and public spaces.

With the approval of the processing, the tender is given free rein, with a base budget of 21,200,000 euros until 2026.

The mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, underlines in a note that the investment planned for the next four years will translate into “a substantial improvement” in the accessibility and safety of the municipal road network.

The actions planned include the resurfacing of the roads, conditioning of sidewalks, accessibility and renewal of signage, among other issues.

The local councilor highlights the “effort” that in the last three years has been made to act in the different neighborhoods and towns of the municipality “depending on the degree of urgency of each place.”

Although there have been “great advances, resurfacing roads that have not been touched for, for example, more than 20 years”, admits the mayor that “there are still needs that we hope to solve with the new contract”.

Once the Governing Board has given the green light to the file for contracting and the opening of the award process through an open procedure, the Councilor for Works and Infrastructure, Josimar Hernández, trusts that the tender will be published “as soon as possible”.
