The Ministry of Health of the Government of Canary Islands has recorded three new cases and four under study of monkey pox since Friday, so since the beginning of the declaration of the health alert there 126 confirmed cases, of which 79 were detected in Gran Canaria, 42 in Tenerifefour in Fuerteventura and one in La Palma.
All active cases are having mild symptoms and remain in home isolation receiving follow-up from Primary Care.
Thus, the confirmed and notified cases in the Canary Islands Since the beginning of the alert and until today, they remain as follows: 126 confirmed cases, 79 in Gran Canaria, 42 in Tenerife, four in Fuerteventura and one in La Palma; two probable cases, pending confirmation, one reported in Gran Canaria and another in Tenerife, and nine suspected cases, pending confirmation, five in Lanzarote, two in Tenerife, one in Fuerteventura and one in La Palma.
The protocol of the Ministry of Health classifies cases between probable and suspected depending on whether the patient meets clinical criteria and epidemiological criteria (probable cases) or if it only presents clinical criteria and in such case it is considered a suspected case.
