SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 4 (EUROPE PRESS) –
Agents of the National Police and the Civil Guard, in a joint operation against drug trafficking in the metropolitan area of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and La Laguna, have arrested a 51-year-old man as the alleged perpetrator of a traffic crime of drugs for harboring in his storage room 460 kilograms of hashish, a kilo of cocaine and 6,500 euros in cash.
Thanks to other investigations, the agents learned that a middle-aged man, known for his past relationship with drug trafficking on the island, had resumed such activities, as reported by the Civil Guard in a press release.
Likewise, the inquiries led to a storage room rented by this person in Los Majuelos (Tenerife), where 460 kilograms of hashish were found, divided into 14 still wet bales, one kilogram of cocaine, substances for drug cutting and 6,500 euros in cash. .
Given the high probability of destruction of evidence, the investigators arrested the alleged trafficker and after requesting the corresponding judicial authorization, the agents entered and searched his home, apart from a nightlife venue that he intended to open in the town of La Laguna.
Likewise, the agents have seized another 20 kilograms of hashish, 100 grams of cocaine, a press for cocaine packages and other elements for weighing, cutting and selling the drug.
THE PRINCIPAL RESEARCHER HAS A COLLABORATOR
The investigators, through the proceedings carried out, learned that the detainee collaborated with another 63-year-old man, also related in the past to drug trafficking in Tenerife.
For this reason, this person has been arrested at his home in the capital of Tenerife, in a judicially authorized entry and search, in which different narcotic substances were seized, in addition to weapons such as katanas, daggers, a defense, shackles and 38-caliber ammunition special.
The judicial authority has ordered their entry into preventive detention after being placed at their disposal.
