SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 3 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Autonomous Organization of Museums and Centers (OAMC) of the Cabildo de Tenerife has organized children’s workshops throughout the month of August and until September 9.
The Museum of Nature and Archeology (MUNA), in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and the Museum of Science and the Cosmos (MCC), in La Laguna, are the museum centers that host this initiative, which encourages the little ones to become familiar with culture, nature and science, as well as bringing them closer to the world of museums.
The Councilor for Museums of the Island Council, Concepción Rivero, points out that this initiative has been carried out since last June and “aims to arouse the concern of our minors, while they get to know the function of museums up close and have fun “.
The Museum of Nature and Archeology hosts the workshops from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the possibility of taking advantage of the permanence option, in which case they would be from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. During this time, the registered minors will carry out different recreational and educational activities related to science, art and free time, with cross-cutting content on the environment and values. Each week will be marked by an axis that will guide the content of the workshops.
For its part, the Museum of Science and the Cosmos hosts the workshops at the same time. In this case, fun and learning prevail, since attendees will not only learn scientific concepts, but will also be educated in values such as teamwork, critical thinking and respect for other people. In this center, each week there is also a theme oriented towards science and the universe.
Registration, in both cases, can be done through the Tenerife Museums website, museosdetenerife.org, and it is possible to reserve places for full weeks. The activities are intended for children between 4 and 12 years old.
