SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 3 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The outbreak of forest fire declared yesterday in the municipality of El Rosario has been considered extinguished at 08:15 am today, Wednesday, with 15,300 m2 of vegetation being affected, as reported by the Cabildo de Tenerife.
The fire originated in an area with orchards with lots of vegetation and scattered houses on Las Rosas street, in La Esperanza, and generated a significant column of smoke, so the necessary emergency resources were immediately activated.
Land and air resources from the Cabildo de Tenerife, members of the Firefighters Consortium and air resources from the Government of Spain traveled to the scene. Around 4:30 p.m., the conatus was considered stabilized and was controlled at 8:10 p.m.
It should be remembered that the General Directorate of Security and Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands maintains the alert situation due to the risk of forest fires in Tenerife since last Monday. Consequently, the Cabildo activated grade 1 measures for the prevention of forest fires, such as the prohibition of the cultural use of fire and recreational use, among others.
