Humberto Pérez González was designated the best viticulturist of the year in the framework of the XIX Matanceros Wine Contest. The production of his winery stood out among the 40 wines that opted for the award in an event held in Plaza El Salvador, in the municipality of La Matanza de Acentejo.
The municipal government appreciates that this event has been decisive in preserving and promoting the traditional production of wines in La Matanza, while optimizing the yield of the crops and the final quality of the wines.
The contest created a new category of white wines in this edition. In addition to the winner, gift vouchers for agricultural products were obtained by Noé García Felipe, Yeray Martín Domínguez, Nazario Rodríguez Rodríguez (best traditional white wine) and José Pedro González Ravelo (best traditional wine and Bodegueros Award).
