Brito announces in La Palma that the festival of the Patron returns to normal

The Plaza del Santuario de la Virgen de los Nieves, in Santa Cruz de La Palma, yesterday hosted the presentation of the festivities in honor of the Patron Saint of the Canary Islands, the Virgin of Candelaria, both its program and the poster and the town crier, Luis Morera, artist from Palma. It should be remembered that the City Council of Candelaria launched last year in Gran Canaria the initiative to tour the Islands with the presentation of the Fiestas, sharing the regional character of its Patron Saint with the entire Canary Islands.

«Life and bustle are going to return to our Villa, ready to welcome you whatever your starting point. The pilgrimage through mountains and paths returns, the Guanche Ceremony, the fights and party nights, the processions and the military parade, the drums and runners, the brothers of Teror, the fires, the nougat bowls and everything that reality took from us for for a while”, highlighted the mayor, Mari Brito.

among the artists, This year Olga Cerpa and Diana Navarro, Los Sabandeños and José Vélez will pass through the Plaza de la Patrona.

The mayor of Santa Cruz de La Palma, Juan José Neris, pointed out that the act “is a clear example that the Canarian people, and our neighbors from Tenerife, continue to have the Island in their minds and hearts.” The author of the poster and town crier, Luis Morera, stressed that the Virgin of Candelaria is “the beacon that guides and protects each of the Islands”, while the Prior of the Dominican Fathers, José Ramón Enjamio, highlighted that ” all candlestick makers feel today (yesterday) clappers».
