SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 1 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Governing Council of the Cabildo de Tenerife has approved the tendering of the integral conditioning works of the TF-226 as it passes through El Sol street, in the municipality of El Rosario. The project has an expected execution period of 24 months and will involve an investment of 2,716,191 euros, of which the Cabildo contributes 1,943,384 euros and the rest the City Council.
The first vice president of the Cabildo and councilor of Roads, Enrique Arriaga, indicated that it is a comprehensive action on the TF-226, in which the road will be widened, pedestrian zones will be enabled, the surrounding walls of the surrounding farms will be replaced and supply, sanitation, drainage and lighting facilities will be improved.
He added that the road requires major remodeling to improve the safety of pedestrians and drivers who use the TF-226 for their daily journeys. “This is so because the island highway has sections that run both in urban areas and through rural settlements,” he pointed out.
The insular director of Highways, Tomás Félix García, stressed that since at some points there are houses on both sides of the road and that it is very narrow, the section between Zamoranos and La Fuente streets will have only one direction.
With this joint action with the municipality of El Rosario, road safety in the area will be significantly improved while driving is made easier for road users.
