SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 1 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Government of the Canary Islands has opened the registration period for producers for the Agrocanarias Fair of La Gomera until Friday, August 12. It is a meeting that will take place from September 1 to 4 in the Plaza de Las Américas-Plaza de la Constitución, in San Sebastián de La Gomera, and is aimed at producers, companies, professionals from the agri-food sector and the general public.
After the good reception of the first Agrocanarias held in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in May, producers will have another opportunity to promote and sell their products directly to the public while making professional contacts. Producers can hire business or gastronomic stands that are perfectly equipped and at very low prices, in addition to marketing their products free of charge at the stands set up by the Management of the Rural Environment of the Canary Islands (GMR Canarias).
This edition is the second of the Agrocanarian Fairs promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Autonomous Government, organized by the Management of the Rural Environment of the Canary Islands, and with the participation of the Canarian Institute of Agrifood Quality (ICCA) and the collaboration of the City Council of San Sebastian de La Gomera.
Visitors will be able to enjoy tastings of the products and gastronomy of the Islands. In addition, the venue will have live music, a children’s area, presentations and product training. A market has also been set up in which the award-winning products at the Agrocanarias Awards will be sold, along with other agri-food products made in the Canary Islands.
The Head Minister of the Area, Alicia Vanoostende, assured that the Agrocanarias Fair “is not only the perfect showcase for the products of the primary sector, it is also a meeting point for producers to enhance their activity with the agents of the sector.”
