The City Council of Santa Cruz, through the Autonomous Organism for Festivities and Recreational Activities (Oafar), opened yesterday, August 1, the deadline for the presentation of the works that will participate in the contest for the advertising poster of Carnival 2023, whose theme is New York, the city that never sleeps. Those interested in competing can consult the bases and conditions on the website www.carnavaldetenerife.com or on the Oafar Notice Board. Entries may be submitted until September 15.
For the election of the winning poster, a dual voting system will be established. A technical-artistic jury appointed by the Oafar will select and score the 10 best works, which, in its opinion, meet the plastic or artistic quality, the announcing or informative effectiveness of the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and its reason, New York, the city that never sleeps, in addition to its conditions of reproduction. That verdict will have a weight of 60% in the final score. To this will be added the online popular vote among the 10 selected works, which will have a specific weight of 40%.
The final result will be the one corresponding to the sum of both scales. The prize will have an amount of 2,500 euros, the work becoming the exclusive property of Oafar, which will use it in the way it deems appropriate.
