A man arrested for committing several robberies at knifepoint in Tenerife

Agents of the National Police have arrested a 34-year-old man, without a police record, as the alleged perpetrator of four robberies with violence or intimidation committed between April and July of this year, three of them at the same gas station in La Laguna, in Tenerife .

In the space of a few months, on three occasions, the workers at the Los Majuelos gas station were robbed to seize the proceeds from the cash register, the National Police said in a statement on Tuesday.

In all cases the author’s way of operating was the same, a young, stocky man intimidated them with a knife so that they would give him the proceeds. After committing the act, he quickly fled from the scene on the run or in a vehicle.

As the investigation progressed, the agents were able to identify the alleged perpetrator of the robberies through different testimonies, relating him to a fourth event carried out in a supermarket, also in the Los Majuelos area. In total, this person would have seized about 1,000 euros in cash.

Finally, the investigators managed to locate him in a hotel in the town of Arona, where he was arrested days ago by agents of the National Police.

The judicial authority, after receiving the detainee and the police actions, determined his admission to prison.

The agents continue to investigate and do not rule out that he may be related to other violent robberies committed in the municipality of La Laguna.

The actions were carried out by national police officers from the La Laguna Local Police Station.
