The month of July says goodbye in the Canary Islands with haze and rising temperatures

The skies will be cloudy this Sunday in low areas in the north of the islands with the greatest relief, there will be haze on peaks and midlands Gran Canariahigh areas of Lanzarote Y Fuerteventura Y temperatures will rise in the interior of the more mountainous islandsespecially in the central ones, and the wind will be from the north or northwest.

The Meteorology Statal Agency (Aemet) remember that there is warnings in force for maximum temperatures in summits and midlands facing south and west of Gran Canaria.

On the northwestern and southeastern slopes of the mountainous islands there will be intervals of strong wind, while on the southwestern coasts breezes will predominate and on the summits there will be a weak easterly component.

As for the state of the sea, it announces north and northeast winds of force 4 or 5, 5 or 6, and even 7, swell and strong swell, as well as variable force 2 to 4 on the south and south-west coasts of the islands, with breezes and tidal waves.

There will be a swell from the north and northeast with waves of one to two meters.

The weather forecast by islands for Sunday:

LANZAROTE

In the north, cloudy intervals with a predominance of cloudy skies in the early and late hours. In the rest slightly cloudy or clear, with intervals of medium and high clouds during the second half of the day. Calima in height. Temperatures with few changes in general, except for slight increases in the maximum in inland areas. Occasionally strong northeast wind in southern interior areas.

FUERTEVENTURA

In the west, cloudy intervals in the early and late hours. In the rest slightly cloudy or clear, with intervals of medium and high clouds starting at noon. Calima in height. Temperatures unchanged or slightly rising, more significant in interior areas. 30º C will be exceeded in interior areas. Northeast wind with strong intervals on the southern slopes of Jandía where a punctually very strong gust is not ruled out in the early hours.

Puerto del Rosario 22 28

GRAND CANARY

In the north, below 600 meters, predominance of cloudy skies opening clear during the afternoon. In the rest of the slightly cloudy areas tending to cloudy intervals of medium and high clouds from mid-morning. Calima mainly affecting summits and midlands. Temperatures of slight to moderate rise, more significant in the midlands and high areas of the northern half. It is expected to exceed 34 ºC in summits and midlands facing south, west and southeast, as well as 30 – 32 ºC in low areas of the southeast and west slopes and in high midlands of the northern slope. Northeast wind with strong intervals on the southeast and northwest slopes, where very strong gusts are not ruled out in the early hours. Breezes will prevail on the southwest coast. In summits, generally loose wind of east component.

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 22 25

TENERIFE

In the north, below 600 to 700 meters, predominance of cloudy skies tending to cloudy intervals in the afternoon, except in Anaga where it will remain cloudy. In the rest of the areas, slightly cloudy tending from mid-morning to cloudy intervals of medium and high clouds. Light haze affecting summits and midlands. Temperatures in slight to moderate rise, being more significant that of the maximum in interior areas. Temperatures of 30 – 32 ºC can be reached in the east, south and west midlands. Northeast wind with occasional strong intervals in the extreme northwest and southeast slope. Breezes on the southwest coast and a light wind from the southeast in high areas.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife 22 30

LA GOMERA

In the north, below 600 to 700 meters, cloudy skies tending to cloudy intervals from noon. In the rest of the areas, slightly cloudy or clear, tending in the afternoon to intervals of medium and high clouds. Light haze that will affect high areas. Minimum temperatures with few changes; maximums in slight ascent that can become moderate in the southern midlands and high areas where they will exceed 30º C. Northeast wind with strong intervals on southeast and northwest slopes. Predominance of breezes on southwest coasts. In summits, light wind from the southeast.

FORECAST MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C):

San Sebastian de la Gomera 23 29

THE PALM

In the north and east, below 700 to 800 meters, there is a predominance of cloudy skies opening clear in the middle of the day. In the rest of the areas, slightly cloudy or clear with some interval of medium and high clouds in the afternoon. Light haze is not ruled out that will affect high areas from noon. Minimum temperatures in slight decrease; highs on light to moderate ascent, especially in inland areas. 30º C will be exceeded on the west slope. Northeast wind with strong intervals in extreme southeast and northwest where a very strong gust is not ruled out. Predominance of breezes on west coasts. In summits, light wind from the south.

Holy Cross of the Palm 22 28

THE IRON

In the northeast, below 600 to 700 meters, cloudy skies tending to cloudy intervals from noon. In the rest of the areas, slightly cloudy or clear, with intervals of medium and high clouds. Low probability of light haze that will affect high areas. Minimum temperatures with few changes; maximums in slight to moderate ascent, more significant in midlands and high areas where 30º C will be reached. Northeast wind with strong intervals on the southeast slope and the extreme northwest. Predominance of breezes on southwest coasts. In summits, generally loose wind from the south.
