Rescued by helicopter after falling in an area of ​​difficult access in Teno while practicing the shepherd’s jump



A helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) managed to rescue a 79-year-old man who was injured in an area of ​​difficult access after falling while practicing the shepherd’s jump in Buenavista del Norte.

The events took place around 2:09 p.m. this Sunday, when the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert informing of the fall of the man in an area of ​​cliffs in front of the Point of Teno. The necessary emergency resources were immediately activated. The GES helicopter went to the scene and located and rescued the wounded man. Once immobilized, he was evacuated to Tenerife North Airport. A medicalized ambulance from the SUC was waiting for him there, whose staff assisted the affected person and transferred him to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands due to moderate rib trauma.
